Mana Ora @ Rānui
At Rānui school, we believe that every student holds unique strengths, talents and leadership potential.
Our Mana Ora Framework is a strength-based tool that is designed to nurture these qualities by fostering a sense of identity, confidence and mana enhancement. It is a tool that guides our school community to better understand themselves.
Mana Ora creates a shared language that supports learning and enhances well-being by growing, strengthening and sustaining great relationships.
Through Mana Ora our school makes connections to the characteristics of Atua Māori in our everyday lives.
Mana Ora
– provides a framework that compliments and strengthens our other wellbeing initiatives such as PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) and Restorative Practice in order to respond to the needs identified by our tamariki and our community.
– improves self-awareness, emotional regulation and communication. This impacts positively on the relationships between the students, their whānau, the teachers and school.
– embeds wellbeing (spiritual, physical and mental), the importance of relationships and aids development of cultural capability, as these areas are foundational to teaching and learning, complimenting te ao Māori.
Through Mana Ora we aim to uplift the mana of tamariki and each other and focus on the strengths each other have while upholding our school value of aroha
